Terms of use

Terms of use for Melbourne Choice: what the lists are, how they’re made, paid plans for businesses and how to use the site fairly.

Who these terms are for

Everyone who visits Melbourne Choice (melbournechoice.com), a free guide to Melbourne businesses. By using it, you accept these terms.

What the lists are

They are a way to find and compare businesses, not professional advice or a promise about quality or price. Any booking, purchase or contract is between you and the business.

How the lists are made

We combine public information about each business, including its rating and how many people have reviewed it, the trade it is in, its suburb, trading hours, phone number and photos, with our own editorial view. Ratings belong to third parties and move over time.

Keeping up to date

We review lists regularly, though details can change in between. A quick call before you set off or sign up is always worth it.

Businesses and paid plans

Owners can claim their listing at no cost through ‘For businesses’ and keep it current. Pro and Top are optional subscriptions paid through Stripe; the price and how renewal works are shown before payment. Paid positions carry a label. We can amend or undo owner edits that are inaccurate.

Fair use

Please don’t use the site for anything unlawful, harvest its content automatically, try to access areas that aren’t public, pose as someone else or send false information.

Our work

The writing, the choices and order in each list, the look of the site and the Melbourne Choice name belong to us, or we have permission to use them. Quoting with a link is fine; copying substantial parts is not, unless we agree.

Responsibility

We try hard to keep the guide accurate but can’t guarantee it is complete or correct at every moment, and we aren’t answerable for the work of listed businesses. None of this limits the protections the Australian Consumer Law gives you. If these terms change, the current wording is published here. Questions: info@melbournechoice.com.
